Tommy Tucker Time began with its namesake, Tommy Tucker. He is a veteran of the film set painting in Hollywood, having worked for several renowned studios such as Universal Studios and Warner Brothers. Tommy's talent came to the surface quickly. When he was 12 he amazed his local parish with a magnificent scale model of St. Anne's Roman Catholic Church. In 1972 he went on to receive national acclaim with a 60-foot wall sculpture commissioned by USC Law School.
With all these projects under their founder’s belt, Tommy Tucker Time has grown to be the best source for all types of vintage signs, murals, portraiture, and miscellaneous painting projects. Although the growth and preponderance of computer technology has infiltrated the contemporary art scene, Tommy Tucker Time has stood out for hearkening back to the era when art was a personal, visceral creation of the artist themselves. Their art projects are practically their children; something that is a part of them.
Tommy Tucker himself has summed it up best: "In a time where everything is disposable, hand-painted art, whether it's a painting or a vintage sign, will never lose its value..."
Join us for a free artist reception for Tommy’s Paranormal Art Show at the Savage Mystic Gallery on August 8th from 6pm - 9pm. Light refreshments will be provided. Meet the artist and learn more about his craft.

It’s our first nighttime market under the glow of our amazing art immersive!
Our Moonlit Night Market features local artisans, food trucks, DJs and our 20,000 sqft immersive art exhibit. Vendors will be inside the art immersive and outside in the sculpture garden!
All tickets include full access to our art immersive created by over 60 local, regional and international artists! Meet our talking mushroom, climb the Tinkertown Spaceship and make a wish in our crystal grotto.
Strange-Air
Free Plein-Air Workshop

Once a month, the creatures and artists from the Upside Down Universe turn the Riverwalk into a living, breathing art studio with easels dotting the riverside as performers drift through the scene like curious wildlife, and 50 people paint the strange beauty of it all.
Our Strange-Air Painting workshop is a Potentialist twist on traditional Plein-Air Painting, allowing individuals to learn painting techniques in a beautiful natural setting with bizarre elements like performance artists, temporary sculpture and costumed models. Reno Little Theater and Good Luck Macbeth will be joining us with costumed actors and props to inspire our Strange-Air painters and future release the weird in Downtown Reno!
These public workshops are every second Saturday of the month from 12pm - 3pm and all materials will be provided including canvases and paint. Strange-Air Painting is an all-ages event for every experience level, making art accessible to all.
Please note: this event is at the West Street Plaza on the Riverwalk not the Potentialist Workshop. This event is part of the Reno Redevelopment and Urban Placemaking Agency’s Activation Pilot Program sponsored by the Reno Redevelopment Agency and the City of Reno.
At the end of the year-long program, we will host a special show at the Savage Mystic Gallery where participants can hang their Strange-Air works and celebrate at a collective artist reception.
This event is open to all ages and skill levels. All materials are included. Painting participants must sign up in advance!

The Upside Down Universe is a bedtime story come to life. Our art director Pan and his son Axiom have been collectively building the Upside Down Universe together for over 8 years.
The story starts a little like this….
There is a story. A story worth telling. And it starts with a little boy and his father. They move to a new home one Sunday. It was an ordinary Sunday, in an ordinary house. His room was not very clean, and so he spent the whole day arranging it just how he liked. At night he heard a strange scratching noise form inside his closet.
The boy naturally tries to ignore it. But it gets louder, and louder, until a gruff voice sounds from behind the door…
"Woah what's that?!"
The boy was terrified and stumbled for the stick he keeps for just a moment like this. He slowly opened the closet door, ready for whatever horror lay inside, but there was nothing - a simple, fairly empty closet.
Until something tapped him on the shoulder, and he turned to find a monster! It was a very small monster, about 3 feet tall, with horns, purple fur and big yellow eyes.
The boy fell and scrambled until the side of the closet was at his back.
The monster only said, "Hurry up" and grabbed the boy by the hand, to drag him through the small door that appeared at the closets very end.
They came out through a wishing well, in a strange new world.
This place has had many names.
And many children to name it.
But this boy called it Upside Down Land.

Yes! Tickets are available at the door but we do limit the amount of guests per time slot to allow for the most magical experience for all. We recommend buying tickets in advance if you can.

The Potentialist workshop
The Upside Down Universe is a place for daydreams to become reality and that couldn’t be possible without our amazing space and art collective, The Potentialist Workshop. The current show - Under The Mountain was made possible by the hard work of 60+ artist, creatives and leaders in the Reno area and beyond. The Upside Down Universe originally debuted at 2022 Miami Art Week. The collaborative artist group had a fantastic time building for that special event and they wanted to bring that magic back home to Reno. In the Fall and Winter of 2023, the community created Upside Down Land, Reno’s largest DIY art immersion. Our newest iteration, Under The Mountain includes 20,000 sqft of indoor/outdoor interactive art immersion. New art is frequently added and the space is always changing. We are so excited for you to experience our collective dream.
